Contact Dr. Cathryn! Dr. Cathryn is a clinical psychologist with over 25 years of experience helping
children, teens, and adults overcome both common and uncommon
challenges and grow towards experiencing fuller and more joyful lives.
Dr. Cathryn combines a deep understanding of the influence of early
attachment experiences with a strong emphasis on exercising our freedom
of choice towards change. In other words, we don't have to be stuck in
our past. For those who are interested, Dr. Cathryn also specializes in
integrating faith with the personal growth process. (and yes, this is a more recent photo.... and yes, she's lost weight ....and yes, she's older than she looks!!) In the past, Cathryn has worked as Clinical Director for a day treatment center for the chronically mental ill, and as Adjunct Professor at both Rosemead School of Psychology, and Fuller Seminary's School of Psychology. For over a decade, she has been Clinical Supervisor for Turning Point Counseling, a non-profit agency that places Marriage and Family Therapy interns in churches throughout Southern California. She has certification in Critical Incident Debriefing, and also has specialized training in EMDR, both effective tools for helping children and adults who have experienced traumatic events. She sees children as young as 3 years old in play therapy and coaches parents in behavior modification, as well as offering individual and family therapy for teens. Cathryn enjoys working with couples, and while she is a pro-marriage counselor, also helps couples and families through the divorce process when necessary. Cathryn is available for consultation to clergy and medical professionals, for case consultation and the clinical training of mental health professionals, for speaking at schools, churches, synagogues and other community groups.
